Public Works / Grounds Maintenance Worker

The City of Dunn is seeking qualified applicants for Grounds Maintenance Worker to work within our City owned cemeteries. Candidate will perform a variety of tasks involving right-of-way maintenance and buildings and grounds maintenance work. Assists in digging and closing graves and placing markers and stones. Position includes shared weekend and holiday on-call for grave closings when necessary. Must be able to operate chain saw, mower, weed eater, blower, and other light equipment. All candidates must possess a valid NC Driver’s License and be able to drive trucks.

Dunn was originally called "Lucknow" and was renamed in 1873

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
