Finance Department / Accountant & Software Support Specialist

The position requires a professional individual to perform duties of an accounting nature in accounts payable, purchase orders, grants, and will be considered the super user for the financial software program. Work involves applying established accounting or administrative procedures, principles of bookkeeping and basic fund accounting or other financial procedures. Work assignments are performed in accordance within established procedures with unusual situations being referred to the supervisor for guidance.

  • Minimum Requirements
    Graduation from a community college with a two year associate degree in Accounting or Business and some experience in an automated fiscal or accounting environment, preferably in the public sector; OR graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work in bookkeeping/accounting and information technology and considerable experience in an automated fiscal environment, preferably in the public sector; OR an equivalent of education and experience.

    Depending on qualifications

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
