Public Utilities / Administrative Support Specialist I

The City of Dunn is currently accepting applications for the position of Administrative Support Specialist I in Public Utilities. The position requires a professional individual with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Duties include: Greeting customers and visitors and responding to questions; provides clerical support; prepares correspondence and charts; maintains office files; assists with payroll; creates and maintains departmental website content; prepares, edits, and submits press releases and public notices. Responsible for providing accurate, comprehensive and timely information to the public. Candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft products and other relevant software. Must have knowledge of digital photography, camera equipment, and editing pictures. Some after-hours work may be required in order to provide communications support.

    Requires two years’ experience in an office setting.

    Starting salary: $31,675

Dunn was originally called "Lucknow" and was renamed in 1873

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
