Finance Department / Utility Customer Service Representative

The City of Dunn is currently accepting applications for the position of Utility Customer Service Representative. This position performs collection and clerical duties in the Finance Department. Tact, courtesy and diplomacy are required while dealing with frequent public contact. Duties include: cashiering, collections and complaint resolution; assisting customers in person, by phone and by mail; calculating fees, balancing cash drawer, handling requests for utility service orders; entering applications for new and discontinued services. Candidate must have working knowledge of cash receipting and balancing in an automated environment; must be able to perform mathematical computations and be able to enter data with speed and accuracy; must have ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

  • Minimum Requirements
    Position requires a high school diploma and some work experience performing cashiering and a variety of accounting tasks and functions.
  • Special Requirements
    Fluent Spanish speaking a plus, but not required.

Dunn was originally called "Lucknow" and was renamed in 1873

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
