Public Utilities / Environmental Compliance Coordinator/Relief Operations Specialist

The City of Dunn is seeking qualified applicants for the above position at our Wastewater Treatment Plant. Responsibilities include: collecting and analyzing wastewater samples, conducting laboratory analyses of wastewater to assess plant operations and compliance with State and Federal regulations, filing state reports, maintaining records, ordering chemicals, lab and office supplies, calibrating and maintaining lab equipment; coordinating the industrial pre-treatment program to ensure local industries comply with regulations; performing operator duties and assisting with maintenance as required.

  • Minimum Requirements
    Associate’s Degree in chemistry, science or related field and 1-2 years of lab analysis experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience required to perform the job.
  • Starting Salary Range
    Starting salary: $15.98 per hour.

Dunn was originally called "Lucknow" and was renamed in 1873

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
