Public Utilities / Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Specialist-Night Shift

The City of Dunn is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Specialist. This employee performs operational, laboratory and maintenance functions at the wastewater treatment plant. Work will be performed on a 12-hour night shift to include some weekends and holidays.

  • Minimum Requirements
    High school graduate supplemented by course work in biology or environmental science, or any equivalent combination of education and experience; Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification or ability to obtain upon completion of State of NC prerequisites and examination. Must possess a valid NC Driver License.
  • Starting Salary Range
    Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
